“THE EDGE, there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.”
― Hunter S. Thompson
This blog is just a personal collection of things I like. It is public just because that is what blogs are, but I have no ambitions of world domination through my simple blog! Nevertheless, I find it fascinating that people from all over the world read my blog. Some of the more unusual countries are: Colombia, Iceland and Mongolia. Hello friends :) And hello Spain, the country with most visits by far! It seem appropriate that I am visiting Spain for a holiday then wedding in May. The data above is from 1 January 2013 to today. I don’t publicise the URL for my blog anywhere so the traffic sources are also interesting. Some people find my blog through tumblr but mostly through search. I can’t see most of the search terms (700 not provided - what’s up with that!) but some of the more common ones are ”wonderful tumblr”, “diana caulton”, “qualities of a modern woman” and “islamic architecture”. The last two direct to two posts, here and here, I wrote on these topics. Interesting that they are so popular (neither are my finest achievements but since they are so popular, I might consider re-writing them). The funniest search term that landed on my blog is “women are inherently vain and superficial”… is that so?! Top browser is IE followed by Chrome (mine). Also, I have 5 followers - a complete surprise! If you read my blog today and seen this post: hello, pleased to see you and hope you enjoy what you see.
My friends are so important in my life and I count myself extremely lucky to have a group of beautiful, smart, talented and accomplished friends. I don’t see all of them very regularly but with these friends, even if we haven’t seen each other in years, it is as if we saw each other yesterday when we are reunited. All these people have had a lasting impact on my life and I know I can count on them through good times and bad. Two significant omissions are Judith and Fadhila (due to lack of good photo). They should be here too! Each one of these people inspire me and make me happy - thanks for being in my life! Click caption to see how long we have been friends.
